Judy Bolinger paints the East Tennessee she grew up in: the blue layers of the Smokies, the bears that wander through Sevier County, and the wildflowers that come up every spring along the trails.
Originally from Knoxville, Judy and her husband spent years in Des Moines, Roanoke, Lynchburg, La Crosse, and Fort Myers, and she studied oil, watercolor, acrylic, drawing, and mixed media with local artists in each place, as well as at The Studio School in Roanoke, Virginia, and Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg.
Back home in Sevierville, watercolor won. Her work has been shown in juried exhibitions at the Iowa State Fair, Fountain City Art Center, Fountain Art Guild, and Arrowmont, and her originals, prints, and cards are carried by Buie Pottery in Gatlinburg.
Her prints are made in her own studio on 100% cotton fine-art paper, her cards are printed by a local press in Powell, and every order is packed and shipped by Judy herself.
